Default I thought my boat had too much power...

with the 350 making 450 hp in a 16' boat and then I found out one of the previous owners of my jersey speed skiff was running a blower motor in it making 800+ hp!

I got an extra hatch cover with it and I think the cutout speaks for itself. Personally, I think it's overpowered with the current setup but it's so clean with the original gelcoat and in great condition that I was stunned to find out it was run with the blower motor which never hurt the boat. The boat is an original 1987 Baron built hull which is in really great condition for it's age.

Cute little cracker, at first I thought you were saying it was a Barron (meaning nick barron) but figured it out quick, Thats a nice little JS (Jersey Speed Skiff) #55 I was thinking that boat was blue and white in its past life.. JS class was 283 or 305ci Nice little boat but I never felt good in a 16' skiff.. Cool Ride BE SAFE! The hull and racing depends what part of the country your at, Known as a cracker box cigar box rum runner skiff and jersey skiff etc... the original 55 has alot of history here is a cool little link for it. http://www.speedskiffs.com/cigar_box.htm

My boat is a 1987 hull built by Baron, it's not the original JS55. They are fun to get out and drive around. I'm just learning the driving characteristics before I push it too much.

Thought I would follow up on some history I found about my boat. It turns out it was in Hot Boat Magazine back in 1991 when it had the blower on it. It had a B&M Megablower making around 540 hp (gotta love how the original information got distorted as it was passed down ). The original owner was clocked at 96 mph which is pretty crazy for a 16' boat. I spent the summer getting used to driving it and it's a blast. Here is a copy of the magazine article from 1991. The blower is now gone and the name has changed but most of the boat is the same.
