Default Z28 intake to head - painted head surface or not?

ON the 69-Z28 with the alum stock intake and alum valve covers - where the intake bolts to the cylinder heads - does that portion of the cyl head that is NOT covered by the intake itself - get painted orange or left to bare steel?

Appreciate the insight!

No it didn't. The rocker covers and intake were covered with a mask during painting.
