Default 1967 Cherokee Camaro RS SS GM Styling Car

1967 Cherokee Camaro RS SS GM Styling Car.

This is one of the most significant Camaros of all time.

1) It is a true GM built styling car.

This was a joint effort by styling Czar Bill Mitchell and Performance Guru Vince Piggens at a time when GM was the largest and most powerful corporation in the world!

2) It is a factory one off Super Car conversion.

GM put a 500 hp solid lifter, Webber down draft carbureted L78 Mark IV big block in the car.

3) It is a real Can Am Pace Car

4) It has celebrity ownership;

Bill Mitchell and Augie Pabst

5) It is a very original unmolested Camaro

There is more.........................

It will be offered at the Russo and Steele Auction in Arizona.

This car has always gotten my "motor" going. Love the shot thru the windshield with the hood tach and clear view of the weber stacks!!!!

I've always loved the Cherokee too even though it's a ragtop as what's cooler than that hood and induction system!.
It was the pace car up here at Mosport and I expect what the one shot in the clip w/ the McLarens etc is from..
Best wishes whoever the lucky dog is that gets this special car!.

The photo is from Road America in 1967. Sir Sterling Moss was the race program director, for Can Am and he is the one driving the car.

It is a cool car to drive.

Stephano, how much did it sell for? I had that car in my hands to buy years back for $85K, but it was missing a lot of stuff under the hood. It was way before the new owner did the great research on the car, and spent money to get it driving again. He put his heart and sole into getting that car to where it is today, and he stepped up and rolled the $85K initial dice roll.
