Default Jim Kirby/Dick Harrell 1968 Camaro AA/FC

I know there has been a ton of bad blood over the years with the DH site and the SYC but Bill Porterfield has a great post on the Dick Harrell site regarding the 1968 Jim Kirby/Harrell funny car. If your interested in old race history and early funny car history you need to check this out. Mark

That is one of the problems right there. Can't view anything without all the entry info which I forgot long ago.

Since the complete thread is available to anyone on the link posted above, and due to the past events, I have decided remove what I pasted. Its amazes me how historically significant time capsules are still being found.

Hum...a Harrell car? What has changed?

Posted by Dale Pulde on this site.

"....Original Dick Harrell #3 car.î Under Vehicle condition it says ěAn all original DICK HARRELL 68 Funny Carî. It is not, was not and would never be a DH original car. It also says "own a piece of history"; racing history comes from wins and famous owners. The DH name is a good piece of Jim Kirby history. What major event did this car ever win? It was painted Harrell colors so he could fill in for Dick. The name Jim Kirby was not one everyone went to pay and see......

Tom/Kim I know how everyone feels about Dale/Val but that is not why I posted the link, that was a dark time that I dont want to see again. Since Bill P. bought the car he has taken it to numerous shows and has the car running on 90% to 95% nitro and we have Kirby talking about the early days of funny car racing. Kirby never asked for any of the BS that happened in the past but since he is talking we should all listen to the first hand accounts for future generation car enthusiast.

Sam when I get home I will post all the pictures that Bill posted and I have many more to add myself.

Then why bring it up? Though I realize only a select few are allowed access to it, there is a site dedicated to Dick Harrell and folks associated with him. I think it is best to let sleeping dogs lie and not drag it over here.

In respect for all that have suffered in the past over the DH name, I will not post any pictures on the SYC site, so if you want to see it you can follow the link above. Thanks and I hope I didn't offend anyone, my intentions were genuine as a race car enthusiast. Mark
