Are we to critique this motor? Or are you selling it? It has the wrong heads, wrong compression, and in my opinion, if it doesn't have a ZL-1 cam in it, it is not a ZL-1. Horsepower numbers are low, probably due to the cam/pistons/head combo. Rare block that should have been built correctly. I see lots of these that have been upgraded to modern specs, but they always fail to perform like the originals.

I just saw it on there and thought some people here might want to know about it. The block may be date correct for someone's car or something like that.

You could always spend $21K CDN and nothing is correct either. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles...QAdIdZ178448635

Yes, the only thing ZL-1 on those is the block. I saw in the Performance Parts Book that GM sells 2 different ZL-1 blocks-1 that is standard 2 piece rear seal, and 1 that is one piece rear seal. GM has a new 427 forged crank that is 1 piece seal.

That new GM ZL-1 Aluminum engine is an embarassment of an engine. $21,000 for a 480 HP, pump gas, oval port, hydraulic roller is ridiculous. Please. They really smeared the "ZL-1" name and an original would just run absolute circles around one of the newer motors.
