just looked at 68 that has air but the 18 year old kid said someone put it in.it has the big box on the firewall.what #s do i need to see if its factory. vin or trim tag.

There's no numbers/letters on the vin or trim tag that will tell you a 68 Chevelle originally had air cond. I'd guess if the air box in there, it got air, but no guarantees.

I would guess there would be other evidence in the mounting of the condenser. I just removed one, and a factory installation would be difficult to duplicate.

It is an extremely hard installation process to put A/C in a chevelle. Usually if the A/C box is on the firewall, it originally had A/C.

the car is a 307 powerglid 10 bolt rear. needs a good amont of work 3.500.00 sound ok if it has the air.
