Default Radiators - should I get aluminum or OEM copper?

Lots of you guys have had direct experience with this so I'm looking for some guidance...

Finally getting around to finishing my Cuda Hot Rod project and it's time for the radiator. Do I go with an aftermarket aluminum version (and if so, which is the very best one and do they make it to accept the OEM fan shroud?) or should I use an OEM style copper one for the correct look and fit?

You will be able to see some of the radiator through the grill so I'm slightly concerned about the visual effect of the aluminum type (minor detail). Trying to keep the exterior of the car to look like a HemiCuda.

I'm more concerned about proper cooling. Engine is 493 cubes/550 HP and I want it to be reliable for cruising... Don't plan on installing an electric cooling fan so far (unless I really need to).

So I'm open to ideas/suggestions...

Thanks for your input! Charlie

I'm a big, big fan of Griffin aluminum radiators. I like the die-formed factory-looking tanks. I can't stand the welded, fabricated tanks on Be-Cool and many other radiators. I don't know if a 'Cuda is a cross-flow or a down-flow, but I've always hated seeing a cross-flow in a car that originally came with a down-flow. Oh yeah, Griffin probably sells a bolt-in aluminum for your car that you can upgrade to dual 1.25 tubes in the core. A great upgrade.

you can paint the aluminum radiator black so it will look like original one too.
