I have new found respect for Mickey Thompson
This video is worth the watch, I had no idea MT was messing with magnesium V8s, and doing so many things way ahead of the times, back at Indy. The guy was a genious. Unfortunately, like tucker, you got to play the game to win the war.
I credit an L88 guy for pointing this link out: http://mickeythompson63tanker.com/vi...ianapolis-500/ One thing though, if his car ever caught on fire, there was a close to zero chance you could put out the fire with a magnesium block! Long live aluminum! |

Re: I have new found respect for Mickey Thompson
He even cast magnesium center sections for the Vettes when he was racing the Z06 in 63.
