Fairly standard broadcast sheet. The fact that something is printed in the F&SO box is not uncommon, it was just the way they aligned the forms.

The scan is difficult to read, so I can't make out if the code you are referencing is actually a 'ZJ0'. The issue is that I don't think there is a ZJ0 code, the ZJ codes start with '1' through '9' but skip several digits in between.

Here they are:
ZJ1 = Custom Interior
ZJ2 = Custom Exterior
ZJ3 = Interior Conv. Package
ZJ5 = Exterior Decor
ZJ6 = Special Sport Sedan
ZJ7 = Special Wheel, Hub Cap & Trim Ring
ZJ9 = Auxiliary Lighting Group

I took a look at the other codes on your sheet - as best I could. Looks like a double blk cherry with black bucket gut, tinted glass, rear window defroster/defogger, console, and SS conversion. Neat car.

Yeah it's a pretty cool optioned car...

It's definately A ZJ0 in that box, the zero even has the slash through it, everthing else is aligned pretty good throughout also so it definately looks like it was supposed to be there, no question about that...
One theory that has been offered is that all 3025 SS396 nova's that were sent to Canada were COPO cars becuase this model wasn't slated for sale in the canadian market due to the pontiac acadian. My car is a late build of April 17th so it could make sense that a special canadian batch of SS 396 novas came through a central office production order due to either demand or slumping Acadian sales?? That would make it a real COPO car but obiviously not anything super special.
I'd like to hear some comments on this theory???

I don't believe that the copo system was used to get cars into Canada regardless of a given option. I have seen lots of codes in the F&SO block on these broadcast sheets.

I was not aware that this is from a Canadian car, that might explain why I don't find a ZJ0 in my codes. The Canadian cars had different options compared to the US versions, 'extra coolant' for example is a common option I see on the canadian doc's. If you have the canadian doc's from George, does it have the ZJ0 option listed?

no it's not on the gm Canada sheet, and I called george to ask but he didn't know what it was either...It doesn't exist in any of his records, Thats why we thought it may have been a last minute special order "export" code possibly done by the canadian dealers through the copo system in an effort to get some SS396 nova's for the canadian market. If the ZJ0 code was a standard option code like the "V48" extra protec engine coolant or the "ZQ7" canadian warranty booklet etc... etc.. then it would be in his records...
It would be interesting to see if anyone alse has a canadian SS396 nova with a broadcast sheet that has the same code in that copo-f & so box. My thoughts are they all have it.

It's possible that more cars have it, would be interesting to see what it means.

Maybe ZJ0,although not a popular recognizable RPO,could stand for a general protocol on the body itself to accept one of the previous mentioned seven ZJ codes.
I have seen similar examples on Chevelles/Elcos that would dictate this.
