I am hoping that this suggestion is well taken. I do not wish in anyway, shape, or form to make a suggestion that would cause anyone to be offended or breech anyone's privacy. Here is my suggestion: Everybody that posts on the forum please update your "profile" so that when a question is asked people who might feel inclined to answer the question might be able to understand why a question is being asked. I have read many posts asking questions and I am always wondering who and why the question is being asked. I think that it might be of great help to the members of the sYc to know who we are speaking to.

Andrew

Andrew,

I agree it would be helpful, especially to someone in my situation. I am new to the board and site, and have a hard time determining who people are and their interests. I have started putting names with ID's since the reunion, but to be honest, know little of most who post. I just updated my profile, to list my interest in the Gibb/Harrell connection.

Thank Ken. I think that it makes it easier to remember who people are. Someone might look at my profile and remember 'that is that kid from New Jersey' or they might look under my job title and remember that I work at a drag strip and that might cause them to ask me some drag racing related info, etc.,etc. . Please guys update your profiles. With the club growing and people having simular screen names it will eliminate some possible confusion.

Andrew

Andrew:

I'm glad you brought this up. When I originally set this bulletin board up, there were only a few people registered, and we all knew who we were addressing. But, thankfully, this little "community" of ours has grown, and needs some "tweaking".

I have been digging thru the code trying to figure out how to add new profile fields. One I am probably for sure going to add is "real name", or something to that effect. When I address "bowtie3168", I would like to click on the "profile" link and know that I am addressing Andrew Hinckley. Normally, this is done in the signature, but I never could get the signature hack to work with some other features I had installed.

Now, any other suggestions for profile fields?

I think a good addition to the profile would be your age and state you grew up in.Also age that you got involved in muscle cars might be one.
