Wow! He was a mans man. I was at an airshow at Edwards when he went up to break the sound barrier for everyone. Awesome to see and hear. Kinda weird he passed on Pearl Harbor remembrance day. R.I.P. Chuck

Didn't every young boy have a model of the X15 hanging in their room in the 50"s ?? And we all knew darn well who the man was that flew it... Sad to see him go, but he did live a full and adventurous life.
