Default Christmas Photos of the GREEN LT1

Drove the LT1 to Christmas then the lighting was nearly perfect for about 20-30 minutes before sunset and when I was about 1/4 mile from the house I had to stop and shoot some pictures...
CANON 60D 70-200 F4L shot most of them @ full 200 mm zoom from about 50-60 feet away.

The paint has come along VERY nicely, Clay barred then Meguires number 7 about 3-4 applications until the gloss came back, then I have selectively used swirl remover o some of the surface blemishes and have removed 50% of what can be corrected without getting into the metallic.

3.55 M20 with the LT1 is just great all around gearing, but has taken time to get used to... the Black and Blue 69 Z's both had M20's with 4.10's - they were brutal off the line but were screaming by 60-70mph.

The 3.55 is fine off the line, but really fun when you come into a tight bend and do a quick down shift from 3rd to 2nd let out the clutch letting the engine drag you down... and then slowly add as you come through the apex - rolling hard onto the throttle, the tail just squats and the car just straightens right up as the secondaries begin to roar, BAM into 3rd and back into it - now finally a chance to look at the speedometer you see- 70-75MPH and have to back off... lol
- too much fun.

C3's, especially the early ones, are so underrated and underpriced. Love yours.

You aren't kidding.. though the LT1's are slowly creeping up... where else can you get solid lifters, a 4 speed, and original paint for under 50k? If you look hard and act quick they can be bought for 40k...

Really??? I have beem keeping my open for a respectable '69 for around 20k to make a STOCK/SUPERSTOCK car. I have found nice complete stockers in the 40 range. But would like to find a base 69 side pipe car if i could.

3 years ago at a local show there was a nice blue on blue 71 LT-1 T-top vette for sale. Already nicely restored down to the correct tires and asking price was $25k. It sold. I see the current owner driving it around frequently.

Just last year the 2nd owner of an unrestored original paint survivor 71 LT-1 vette convertible with 80k miles on it was priced at $22k here in Prescott. I almost bought that one but 2 things stopped me. It was an unusual white exterior/green interior combo, and my wife decided that after 3 other corvettes she just didn't want another one. I looked that one over pretty good and was a pretty nice original car. That one sold shortly after and haven't seen it since.

They are still out there at very reasonable prices if you're patient and look hard enough.
