Vintage Tire Size and Rim Selection

There are different web sites that cross reference various "Series " of tires , 60 Series, 70 Series, 78 Series, Pre-1965, 1965-72, Metric 80 Series and Modern 60, 70 and 80 Series tires. If you cross reference the information from one site to another there are inconsistencies.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to where accurate information can be found?
