Default 1968 Nova 427 car in Texas?

I finally tracked down a 427 '68 Nova that went to somewhere in Texas and I was wondering if someone on here knows anything about it. The first time I saw it was in about 1973 in my town near Kansas City, MO. It was black with the red 427 badges in the front fenders. It was a 4 speed with a Dana 60 under it. It sounded really bad! The engine let go and the car sat beside the guy’s driveway here for a long time with the engine out of it. Next thing I remember it was gone (1976?). I recently found out that the car supposedly went to Texas, possible around Dallas. It may have been a COPO with the 427 badges. A guy that had actually rode in the car said it had a tall deck 427 in it and a truck rear end (Dana 60). I dude that built race cars near here sold it to the guy that owned the car when it disappeared. With the help a Ray Morrison we figured out it was not a Dicky Harrell car. If anyone knows about it I would really like to know. Finding it is on my bucket list. Thanks.
