Three questions I can use some help with pls.....1969 Camaro
1. Are the lower bearing and bushings the same for a tilt and non tilt column? 2. The bushing in my tilt column I took out is black and what im seeing as replacements is white (assuming the ones in In-Line Tube work for a tilt wheel). Is there a difference on the white and black ? 3. At the end of the tilt steering column is a small 3/4 plastic spacer - blue in color...are these available? Appreciate the advise....

If you own a 1969 Chassis Service Manual there are 2 exploded views on the steering column assembly---one with tilt steering and one without. They are in black and white photos so I can't make out what is original in color as far as bushings or spacers.
They are located in pages 9-15 & 9-19 in the Steering section. Hope this helps, SAL

Eddie, I think the spacer you are reffering to is called a "lower bearing adapter". Does it have notches arount the outside? If so then it's GM part# 7805822. As far as the bearing, the old GM catalog shows a lower bearing #7805700 and although it says without tilt, it sure looks like the bearing I just pulled off the tilt column in my 70 Chevelle. Google the part#. It shows pictures. Both the bearing and adapter are still available from GM. The parts catalog I have doesn't list a lower bearing specific to tilt columns and I'm not sure why the lower bearing would be different. Maybe someone can confirm?

Check out Jim's Steering papers. There is a wealth of info in these. He is on TC and answers a lot of steering column questions. http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/?cat=12
