They should just drop the hellcat engine in it, and drop the price. The Hellcat challenger has a wind resistance issue, this car does not. I was never fond of the sound either of a V10 vs a V8. Car may be even lighter, not sure, with the Hellcat V8.
If they did that, maybe it would be built in one of the other plants building the current cars with the hellcat engine, saving even more cost. They already have all the tooling, they would just have to move it to one of the other plants. That is too cool looking of a car, I doubt it will die off easily without atleast one more transformation. I do wish someone would design a car that is like ford's GT40. That car is so cool. They have no competition. If Dodge would do that, I would say go ahead, drop the Viper. We need another 'american big 3' mid engine race car. The engine for it is already done |

They should have made more Ford GT's, they are awesome. Their prices just keep going up and up.

The Ford GT40s rocked -- a true American "low-go-fast" ...

Back in the late 1990's they had a project for a mid-engined version of the Viper as the next evolution of the breed but the project was quashed as not being "in the spirit" of the giant, front-engined mystique of the Viper.
The design photos were awesome and looked very much like a Dodge version of the GT40 that was noticeably Viperized. It would have been waaaaay cool. We still have our "workbench" tucked safely in the garage waiting for it to be worth something, someday... ![]() |

It would be nice to see what that 'viperish' GT40 looked like. Maybe there is hope after all.

</div></div> I remember seeing the skunkworks photos/renderings when I worked for Mopar Muscle Magazine back in the day. We were told by the powers that be at Team Viper, in no uncertain terms, that those photos were never to be released to the public. They were quite irked that we had the photos. |
