I was taken aback at the news too, but he was 89 yrs old. He had a good life and was a favorite to see his movies in the 70's/80's. His partnership with Paul Newman in several flicks was great. Sorry to see him pass, but it was his time.

So many well done Movies by him.The Hot Rock to me is one of his best.
