Replacement for 1969 Starter Solenoid

Given that LEGENDS at Camaro Natl's is the ONLY Judging where a Restored Camaro
is elevated, I'm wanting to decide if the ??? Aftermarket Solenoid can be easily spotted and points deducted...........

I do have a used DELCO Solenoid , but dont know how to clean, restore the Bakelite/Plastic Nose piece, plus
replate all the fasteners

Try oven cleaner and a tooth brush. Works well on plastic parts like harness connectors, but don't wait to long to rinse.

A little off the OP topic, but it is starter solenoid related.
This pertains to Pontiac usage and the early (65,66,67) GTO specifically.

Decades ago I purchased whatever I could find electrical related.
Distributor caps (no R), rotors, points, AC plugs and starter solenoids.

Below are a few still in my stash.

#1114348 Switch

Check the price difference between those two Switches especially the ‘83 rev. price.

The “4348” are like gold. Brutal construction with no Bakelite cap, but instead a heavy metal cap to hold up to the tremendous heat generated by the HO/RA exhaust manifolds.
The three ‘67 GTO HO cars I once owned all had the 4348 switch as they never went bad.

Hi Bill,

Sorry, but my knowledge is limited to 65,66,67 GTO’s.
I would suggest asking Grant Baber. He is the guy when it comes to the GP.
