BUT, I don't recall ever having seen a silver firewall and I'm certain it is correct, or you wouldn't have done it, but at what time during production were they painted that color ??

Thanks Mitch, the (white) paint on the firewall was due to stripe color overspray from the under-cowl paint operation which was done so the stripe color was visible with the cowl panel installed when viewed through the vents below the windshield. Sometimes the firewall received some overspray color which was the case on my car.
