I bought a used set untouched in 1988. I paid $450. At the time these were the best affordable heads available. Wish I still had them.

I bought a set over a year ago and paid $700 with valves and retainers, but that was a good price. I think they are more of a novelty than a good performance bargain as I have tested them and they only flow around 10 cfm more than the 186 fuelie heads. With all the good aftermarket and GM heads available with better port and chamber design, you have so many options, which hurts the price of he 292's. They do have more intake port volume and extra material for porting so thay can be made to flow well, but IMO the main value is in day 2 or more stock looking applications. You also will need to deal with angled plugs which won't fit some headers. I see them listed on ebay for upwards of $2000 but this is out of range, more like $1000 or so is more realistic.
