By '74, many of the muscle cars were already worn out, trashed, crashed and abused. Most of them were also daily drivers with high miles. 3 car attached garages were a thing of the future, most were parked outside in the weather. Cars in the rust belt states were already well underway to disintegrating after only 5 years of salt roads in the winter. There were some that had privileged lives with limited miles and good care, but they were few and far between.
