It's great to see they got her back in flying condition. I read the book when it first came out. What a great story and effort by the guys who rescued her. Too bad they didn't have funds or time to rescue the other planes.

From what I remember, they said the other planes (mostly B17's) we too far damaged to rebuild and were essentially flattened. I cannot imagine the costs today to repeat this endeavor. It would be many millions.
