In my 46 years in the hobby/business I have never seen a '69 dash pad repair last more than a few months.

Main problem, the liner is plastic. By the time it shrinks and warps, the foam is hard as a rock. You can trim the liner back and re-glue the foam, won't last. Keeps warping, the studs pull out; corners break off. And as noted, the VIN rivets will be visible.

Don't bother with NOS should you find one. The tooling was different, no bead along the leading edge. Most had a bald spot in the middle.

Latest repro is excellent. That's the smart move.
