LOL - you think those tires are made for off road? They have worked over 10 years on this design. I am sure they have thought about your what ifs.

It's supposed to last at least 80,000 miles. No thin rubber sidewall cover will last anywheres near that long. Plus you want the tire to evacuate anything that gets caught in the webs quickly and easily.
