They certainly sold their share of performance cars and always had a number of them in stock. The Aurora area had a number of companies with good, high paying jobs so a lot of young people had money to burn on such folly, hence there were a lot of performance cars around. In 1970, the parts manager (named Art, can't remember his last name) talked the Fanning management into sponsoring a new 70 LS6 Chevelle which Art raced at nearby Oswego Drag Strip. My friend Phil also worked there in the parts dept and had a first gen Camaro that he raced, which he towed to the track with his Shadow gray 70 Chevelle SS396. Another friend, Brian, worked there in the service dept and bought a Aztec bronze 66 Chevy II SS L79 that someone traded in on a new car....he still owns it.
