70' Camaro wanna be
I believe it was Chevrolet's intent to offer the M40 TH400 in the 1970 L78 Camaro SS 396. They even set aside an engine code: CTY. But from what I understand none were built. All 600 have a 4 speed. It's one of those cars that many say exist, they even say they saw one but no one has yet been able to provide bulletproof documentation. An urban legend.

If you look at the original 1970 Camaro brochure (before it was revised) and some early magazine ads you will see that an option for the SS was to be the LS6 454. Some say Chevy made a few before the option was cancelled - pure BS. The option was cancelled before the car was put into production. There are no engine codes for a 1970 Camaro SS with an LS6 454.

Another urban legend was the 1970 LS7 454 Corvette. The brochure was never revised and there was a magazine ad - the option was cancelled before production began
