I agree with you, but Bill has a point as well. In the Seattle area we have very poor freeways with distinctive tire grooves in the lanes. I'm told it's because our highway dept uses a low performance spec to save money. Whatever the cause, you can nearly be pitched into another lane through no fault of your own; you "must" keep both hands on the wheel and be ready to make instant corrections. It's not a lot of fun.
When I had the pleasure of driving DarrenX33's Z/28 on bias plies around Northern Illinois, I had no such problems as the roads are well-maintained compared to here.
