that was my initial thought also. But in the previous years the 427s and 396s were the biggest and baddest out there(some say)and there seems to be more of those around. I guess I'm just a little partial to 70 chevelles and maybe feel that they were left out. But I guess,like you said, you really can't feel left out when your already pushing 450HP.

Yes but you couldn't get the "biggest baddest" 427 as an RPO in the chevelle/camaro in 69 which is why there were more conversions than in 70. If you could just go order (or even buy off the lot) a chevelle with the highest horsepower big block from any dealer, there wasn't alot of reason to pay a supercar dealer to do a conversion. This wasn't the case in 68/69...yes there were COPO 427's, but they were alot less known/available than a regular option SS454 in 70.
