I took this picture with my Canon S3-IS Powershot in low light, barely leaning over the front of the car with no flash. It has a 12X optical zoom, and many other features. It was a little less than $500. then but the price has dropped. It takes movies and has a Macro and Super-Macro mode with a focal distance of 0. You can lay something on the lens and take a picture of it. It's 7meg, but I think that's all that's needed for great detail. Higher megs just use up memory with no noticable gain on photo quality (IMO).
