Default Re: R model Fairlane

[ QUOTE ]
So how did the L72 Biscayne stack up against the Fairlane, Comet, and Nova??

Hi Paul:
I never had the opportunity to go head to head with the two 427 fords but on the strip I think she would beat both of them just because neither could get their power to the ground, The biscayne was a very consistant low 12 car on slicks and yes air plane fuel. She would hook up real well all the time but the fords would not. They out powered her for sure but I think the best time I remember for the comet was mid 12's.That was with 70's suspension technology also. Today it would probally be a different story.
The Nova HAAAAAAA. That little sucker I ran many times and she was lengths back every time. The ZL1 cam and other Gm performance parts in the l-72 and 456 gears took care of any small block that was foolish enough to try to beat her on the strip.
