Got into an argument with the wife last night. The wife thought I was too mean to one of the kids when I yelled at her when she unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the door and got halfway out of the car before the car stopped in the garage. I was in the carport watching it happen and yelled at her to get back in the car. Of course, the daughter jumps back in the car, starts crying and the wife says I was too harsh on her. (Logic would dictate you yell anything you can at that instant to prevent your kid from getting crushed by a car door hitting the garage wall) Anyway, they both proceed into the house in a moping, crying huff and I get peeved and hop in the truck and leave.
A couple hours pass, and strangely there are no "where are you" phone calls" on the cell phone, which I purposely left on the front seat so it would ring answerless.
I eventually come home and find she didn't even know I had left. She thought I was just out in garage working on the cars, or sitting in front of the computer. When I told where I had been and that she ruined a really good sulking episode, we both had a good laugh.
I guess next time I will have to officially announce my impending angry departure prior to engaging in approved sulking behavior.
...and I know I was right to yell at the time, because at least my daughter is still alive, to be mad at me.
