John is an awesome guy (when he doesn't have to show off or play up to the cameras). Lynn, Holly and I met him a few years ago at the Checker, Schucks Kragen Nationals here in Phoenix through a friend of ours.
John is exceptional around children with special needs (as he had polio growing up). John took all three of us back to where his family was sitting (he lost in the first round) and introduced us to all of them. After offering us something to eat...he opened up a bunch of drawers on his rig and told Holly to pick out whatever she wanted...which she did. He then proceeded to autograph everything for her.
Like I said...Awesome guy
