Sounds like you did the right thing in contacting eBay. You really have to watch yourself in dealings like that.....as you say, if something sounds fishy, it probably is. I decided to quit using PayPal because I was getting all sorts of strange sounding - but
absolutely official looking - emails purporting to be from PayPal, asking me to 're-register my account' or something like that
They were all bogus, too
