Hey Guys,
Thanks for the kind words. The car is CSX3127 - first prototype street 427 car built, obviously built after the first comp 427 cars. The car has a really interesting history as Shelby's PR car for 2 years, including being used on the road with the legendary Cobra Caravan in 1966.
I just got home from the Copperstate 1000 road rallye in Arizona, we took the 427 Cobra on it. Over 1,200 miles in 4 days, from Phoenix through Bryce Canyon in Utah, throught Moab, back through Flagstaff, Sedona, Payson, and to Phoenix! We drove through snow and rain in the mountains on bias ply race tires with no top on the car, great fun. Also had a really good 100 mile top speed run with a police escort one afternoon, had 4 Ford powered cars in a convoy. My GPS verified that 144 MPH is absolute top speed of a 427 Cobra - which exceeds the 122 MPH top speed of an Arizona DPS BMW motorcycle

We had to give the officer a little lead time and then let the Cobra out to catch him. Did you know that the wind buffeting at high speeds will eventually shatter your Cobra windshield? Me neither.
Look for a full season of me driving some choice cars on Musclecar TV on Spike. They are coming to Milwaukee in June to film for 3 days - at least 6 cars.
Best regards,
Colin
