Remember a car # was the only one allowed in that region so as not to confuse another car in the same race group that were on the track at the same time. Mine was 77 and when ever I went to out of region tracks I would have to change it to 17 or 71 or some # not in use at that time.

With that knowledge you should contact the local SCCA oficials in your area and they could look up the correct officials in the NY area for you. I would also place a call to the SCCA national offices and perhaps that could yield a lead for you.

You would be suprised on how many people that raced back in that time period still have pictures and memories of some of the cars that they raced against. I know I still have a lot of my old grid sheets from the late 70's and early 80's.

Heck I may have even raced against that car at one time way back when. It should have been in D/P class back then.
