Definitely the same car. I was in touch with the guy (Jim) years ago but his price was unreasonable for the car. The guy keeps moving and has an unlisted number, so I lost track of him. Then out of the blue a guy calls me on a wanted ad and tells me he was the original owner of a black RS Z and had some of the parts left over from it when he sold it in 1968. Sure enough it's the same car! I go and buy the parts and he shows me the bill of sale and some old time slips from the drag races
When he sold the Z he kept the drivetrain out of the car and put it in another '67 body and drove that car for a few years. He told me who he sold it to and I tracked the guy down out west - and he still owns the car with the Z drivetrain
Unfortunately, he thinks the motor and tranny are worth $10,000
