I agree with most of what is said in the above referenced opinion EXCEPT with regard to Ebay inspection.

You have a right and obligation to yourself to inspect the car BEFORE bidding ends. When bidding ends, you have purchased the car. PERIOD. - that is not the time to look at it! If you can't do it this way, don't bid. Go to BJ or another real auction, bid and win the car, sign on the dotted line (seconds later) and then tell them, no, I want to look at the car!! Really!!

The above was written by a Jeff Webster of Buyer Services International. Of course he wants you to have the car inspected - it is his business. And it IS a good idea to have it inspected, but certainly not AFTER you buy it or otherwise break the ground rules already established!! Talk about poor ethics......

The Ebay auction sale is legally binding, you are entering into a contract.

I've bought and sold cars on Ebay and it does work if you play by the rules. The rules are established by the seller and should be clearly stated. The opinion above says you don't have to go by the sellers rules. Dead wrong. Don't like the rules? Don't bid.

When the rules are clearly spelled out and all abide by them, everyone wins.
