I agree that the M-22 was the standard four speed behind the '70 454 Chevelles, also as I recall the 454 M-22 was different than the M-22's in the 70 Camaros. The 454 cars got the larger output shaft and the fine spline input shaft, whereas the Camaro M-22's were still the coarse spline. These changes became standard on all the M-22 equipped cars beginning in '71.
