Not so much a bold move as an act of desperation. The stripes were a part of the CI package and that meant $$$$, something I didn't have. Same for the buckets, console, gauges, etc. Low budget operation in 1970. We did go the route of Tires, Wheels, Headers, etc. for a while but luck was with me in keeping most all of the original pieces. Thank God I didn't trash an Air Cleaner or distributor! So did you start with the LS-6 engine or something else? Sounds like you had a major investment in aftermarket stuff.
