POP shows original owner as Bill Porter in Maysville, KY. There are still a fair number of Porter kin in Maysville and it ain't that big a place. If someone really wanted to check out the car, a few well-placed phone calls could be a good investment.

PS: That cowl tag has just got to be the nicest condition one I've ever seen.
