Hey Ratpack,
You should have done what I did. Mine was originally an A/C small block grocery getter. The 840 heads only have one accessory boss, so I modified the lower rear compressor bracket, to attach to the exhaust manifold bolts. If I ever get it back from the painter, I'll have to bring it to one of your club meetings.
