Is it still sticky? You can remove sticky glue residue safely using motor oil (or WD40, or any other clean oil) and a soft cloth, just apply and gently rub, rub, rub. Keep applying small amounts of the oil to keep the area moistened. The oil neutralizes the sticky characteristic of the glue, allowing it to lift off.
Be very careful with any kind of solvent; look for a spot on the shroud that won't be exposed once it's installed and test it there if you must use solvent.
