My opinion on 4555/4490 core values depends on the completeness of the core and the date. I try not to buy things that I don't need, but if I find a decent carb less than $200 I would probably buy it. I know it will cost me $300+ to get it redone properly, and $500+ for a done carb seems to be the going rate right now.
I even tried to trade some cores for the resto, a 3910 dated '68 (?$) and a 4053 dated Oct of '69 (?$). No deal, so I might just rebuild one of them for my street carb.
