I've been told that you should replace the resistance coil wire (from the fuse box to the coil), with standard wire, because, with the resistance, you only get 6-8 volts to the coil. To keep it stock looking, you can get non-resistance braided fiberglass wire with the red thread, at an appliance parts house.
As for disguising the 2 wires to the distributor, I ran them though a long thin shrink tube, and separated them only at the coil. Unless you look really closely, you don't notice.
