Default Re: MCR, January 2002

The Harrell Chevelle issue is still on the stand around here, but my issue seemed to come in real early. I guess we know why. So, is there any update to what will become of MCR, annual or bi-annual? What is Tom Shaw going to do now? What other car magazines are Primedia going to send to the guillotine? I kind of don't want to read my last issue right now, because I dread flipping over that last page. It use to be that I would take a break from wrenching to read MCR, or just take a break from the world and get lost reading about the forgotten stories of the musclecar era. There's not a magazine I can think of, that'll replace what we have lost. There are just too many magazines that focus only one make and not one that celebrates the wide variety of them all. I've never been dedicated to any car manufaturer, exclusively. Instead, I always found most musclecars very alluring in their own right. The first piece of heavy Detroit iron I ever saw was a '70 Mach1 Mustang, for crying out loud. I have a subscription to Car Craft, Super Chevy, Autosport and will pick up any other interesting magazine like the new Chevy Rumble, but it isn't the same. With everything that has gone wrong this year, this is just another shot to the heart. I don't mean to wax poetic, but I just feel pretty damn bad. Will some other publisher, PLEASE step up to the plate?!!!!! --Bullitt
