NOS 3996118 propeller shaft rear pinion flange deflector - 12 bolt
Hi Gang, very hard to find these NOS anymore IMHO.
This is an NOS 3996118 rearend pinion flange oil shield slinger / deflector for the propeller shaft - 12 bolt rear.
The old part number was 3954393
It was acquired for the concours restoration a 1969 396 Camaro originally that eventually turned into a restomod...
It has TR head marked bolts and they seem to have had a socket on them in the past - I was told the original restorer wanted everything correct, so they may have been sourced from the original car as assembly line pieces - but the threads are perfect and they certainly seem fine to me - if not NOS.
Maybe it was installed or mocked up - it certainly wasn't used.
Some remnants of the shipping cosmoline present - the unit certainly appears unused and NOS to me, see the photos again.
Again, very hard to fine genuine NOS units - keep your car GM!
