I can post the smallest of updates on the SC360.
Tons of parts are ordered:
New leaf springs(120 day out back in November. Expected shipping date is March.)
All the parts to rebuild the rear suspension.
All the parts to rebuild and reseal the doors and trunk.
Carpet and shifter boot.
Parking brake cables so that’ll work.
A bunch of other small stuff that’s all shipping when the leaf springs ship.
The 360(now stroker) crank is out at the machine shop in Michigan. He started cutting it Thursday because he called with a few questions. He should have it cut sometime next week. Picture is of the box leaving to go there via UPS. Within a week or so I should be able to order the custom pistons to make this whole thing work. I have most of the other engine parts sitting in my basement. They include:
Rollmaster timing set
Crower Hydraulic Hauler cam
Johnson lifters
All of the other valvetrain parts
I did the interview for the Hemmings feature. It’s being written now for a planned release in March-ish.
Plans for 2026 involve driving the car to South Bend Indiana for AMO 2026. I’m planning a route that will be mostly scenic byways and small roads where I can stop for any shiny object(otherwise known as abandoned buildings) I see. It’s about 700 miles and I’m planning for a 2-3 day drive and camping in some national/state parks along the way. It’s basically a test run for when Marty gets a little older and we can do it together in this car.
Otherwise at -1 degree currently I’m not doing anything to the car. I pulled the battery out yesterday to make sure it doesn’t freeze. We’ve had a streak of mild winters so I didn’t worry when I parked the car. But I worry now with this long streak of cold weather we’re getting.
