The torque curve is very flat! I know oval ports make more torque... but this is pretty impressive. Good compression and these 074 heads make torque! I didn't want to go too big on the cam in order to avoid high valve spring pressures needed for solid roller stuff. I have no doubt these heads can support a lot more! My buddy Ross's 049 headed Mark Jones 467 does make about 50lb/ft more and 25 more horsepower. He does have a Edelbrock RPM intake manifold. There is no doubt Mark Jones is a true master cylinder head guru and porter. I am convinced the real hero of this build is what attracted me to it in the first place, the ported 074s.
