By 1971, if you could find insurance, it was prohibitively expensive. Resale value tanked, dealers didn't want to trade them in.

My 65 GTO in 1972 for insurance was over a $100 a month, that was with a 100% surcharge if I remember right. I was 19 with to tickets or accidents.....
