A radio, while not necessary, was on the list of things to do. And since I was knee deep into wiring, might as well work on that today!
I combined parts from a correct Becker-Mexico one with a modern Retro-Sound which gives the best of both worlds.
Here you can see the aftermarket bezel, the factory correct original bezel along with the mounting plate. I'm going to use the original bezel and somehow modify it to include the lower tuner switches belie the dials too.
I trimmed the mounting tabs and surprisingly, the original steel mounting plate fits the Retro ratio perfectly! But seeing as how the original radio I had was for a Mercedes 190SL and this is meant as a replacement, I guess it makes sense it would fit.
I gutted the original seek bar to slip over the tuner buttons. I also mounted the turner switches below the knobs as well
Add the Ivory knobs and we are petty much 100% accurate yet its 6lbs lighter. Blue-toof, Sirumous Radio, and Aux inputs to boot!
Yes that's a lot of work for a radio, but that's half the fun!
